Our staff is dedicated. Here are their mission statements in their own words.
Hello! My name is Maddie Nichols and I am a senior and Co-President of The Bay Eagle. I joined journalism last year because I love to write and I was able to use the school newspaper as a creative outlet. That is my goal for this year: that The Bay Eagle is an outlet for students to use their writing voice and express themselves. I hope students will submit pieces that they are passionate about and know that their opinions are important and deserve to be heard.
Hi! I’m Hana Muslea, a senior at ESHS and Co-President of The Bay Eagle. I joined the newspaper because I have a passion for writing, inquiry, and debate and hope that my time with the paper will enable me to cultivate these skills as well as help me learn and grow as both a writer and journalist. I have truly enjoyed helping organize and prep the website for release and cannot wait for it to develop into an interactive avenue for all students to be a part of and enjoy.
Hey! I’m Rolin Weber, a Senior at ESHS and the Editor-in-Chief and Director of Web Design of The Bay Eagle. I joined the newspaper to have an outlet for my writing skills outside of class and to help provide our community with unbiased and factually based information. Furthermore, I joined to provide others with a platform to do the same and to express themselves through our Creative Corner. My goal this year is to build up a reputable name for the newspaper so that I can leave something that will last after my time at ESHS has passed.
Hello my name is Evan Nichols and I am a freshman. I joined The Bay Eagle to help improve my writing and interviewing skills. My goal this year is to cover the different sports at El Segundo. I am looking forward to meeting and talking with the different sports captains and learning about their dedication!
Hello! My name is LaVie Saad and I’m a sophomore. I joined The Bay Eagle because I love to write stories and thought that journalism would be a lot of fun as well. Although I’m used to writing creative stories with no set structure, I am very excited to write articles for The Bay Eagle and contribute to the sharing of school news!
